Cathy Sorvillo

BOARDMAN — Cathy Sorvillo, 67, died early Thursday morning, surrounded by her family.

Cathy was born Dec. 7, 1952, in Youngstown, the daughter of Thomas and Alice Cartwright Joshua.

She was a graduate of Chaney High School. She was a homemaker and had worked at the office of Dr. Baytosh and at Dillard’s shoe department.

Cathy enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Anthony (Becky) Sorvillo of Pennsylvania, John (Jessica) Sorvillo of Austintown, Michael Sorvillo of Warren and Alisa (Mike) McRoberts of Cortland; her siblings, Bill Joshua, Hannah Dubiel and Norma Schlosser; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A special thanks to her nephew, Robert Joshua, with whom she made her home these last few months, and all the love and care he provided for her.

Her husband, John L. Sorvillo, whom she married June 6, 1976, died March 28, 2011.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, and by a brother, Robert Joshua Sr.

The family requests that material tributes take the form of donations to Grace Hospice 7206 Market St. Youngstown, OH 44512, whose loving care was a source of comfort for the whole family.

At Cathy’s request, her family will be hosting a celebration of life for her family and close friends at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2020, at Tavola Italian Restaurant in Austintown.
