YOUNGSTOWN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Brendan Church, preceded by prayers at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Charles T. "Tom" Foley, 81, who died Friday morning at Omni Manor surrounded by his family.
Tom was born Sept. 4, 1929, in Youngstown to the late Charles T. Foley Sr. and Margaret McGuire Foley Fair.
He was a June 1948 graduate of Chaney High School and veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Brendan Church.
Tom was a plasterer and worked through the Plasterers and Cement Masons Union Local 179.
Tom loved to travel to Mountaineer and enjoyed the Horse Races.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Barbara M. Hevener, whom he married July 19, 1951, she died Nov. 8, 1976.
He is survived by his two daughters, Colleen Keller and her husband Ken of Girard and Suzanne Foley of Barberton; two sons, Brent Foley of Youngstown, and Brian Foley of Jeromesville. three grandchildren, Erin, Chris, and Melanie; two sisters, Elizabeth Dolak of Poland and Kathleen Kurtz of Austintown; and a brother, Edward Foley of Youngstown. Tom also leaves a long time friend, Judy Edwards of McDonald.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
