POLAND - Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel for Charles H. Franklin, 81, who passed away Monday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Boardman.
Charles was born Aug. 2, 1928 in Gadsden, Ala., the son of Edward and Pearl Franklin.
He worked at Mahoning Valley Forge in Youngstown. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Charles leaves his wife of 62 years, the former Verna Smith Franklin, whom he married Oct. 11, 1947; his three sons, Ron Sue Franklin of San Diego, Gary Patty Franklin of Olmsted Falls and Rick Debbie Franklin of Olmsted Falls; his daughter, Sandra Tony Sammarco of Canfield; and eight grandchildren, Kelly and Lindsey Franklin, Kali and Lauren Franklin, Katy Franklin and Michael and Nicholas and Alexandra Sammarco.
The family will be receiving friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
