Austintown. . . Funeral Services will be held Friday at 9:15 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel and the Service of Holy Eucharist at 10:00 am in St. Rocco's Episcopal Church, Liberty for Mr. Charles " Frank" Jeswald age 76 of Austintown who peacefully entered into eternal rest at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 25 at his home after an extended illness. He was surrounded by all his loved ones, his wife, children, grandchildren and immediate family.
Frank was born March 8, 1929 in Youngstown, first son of Joseph and Clara Dominic Jeswald.
He attended Chaney High School until working with his father, his brother James, and Uncle Tony Mitello, who founded the Jeswald Auto Body Repair Firm in the late 1940's on North Meridian Road, where they actually built the building itself. He served his country during the Korean Conflict and also served in the Reserves. He was honorably discharged on December 27, 1956. He also worked for Youngstown Welding and Engineering and Hygrade Foods, returning later to the family business. In November of 1967, after the death of his father, he operated the Meridian Road business. Several years later he expanded the business and moved it to its present location on Mahoning Avenue extension in Austintown, where it is known as Jeswald Auto and Truck Service. In his limited spare time he loved and enjoyed fishing, hunting, carpentry, and restoring cars and trucks. He was also an avid motorcyclist. He leaves his beloved wife, the former Robynn Hammond whom he married July 11, 1999, his mother, Clara Jeswald of Austintown, 2 sons, Charles "Chuck" Jeswald and Anthony Jennifer Jeswald both of Austintown, a step-daughter, Michelle Jon Corfee of Austintown, a step-son, Mike Hammond of Illinois, 10 grandchildren, Charles Cheryl, Amanda, Samantha, Christopher, Cody, Preston, Austin, Nicholas, Chase, and Dillon, 3 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Hannah, and Devin, 2 sisters, Constance Stephen Pressey of Austintown and Angeline Walter Foltz of Orange Beach, Alabama, 2 sisiers-in-law, Rose Anita Jeswald of Austintown and Diane Charlie Beck of Illinois, and a brother-in-law, Richard Dee Buechler of North Royalton, as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends who loved him dearly. He is deeply missed by his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph, his first wife, Babetta Buechler, who passed away December of 1970, and a brother, James Jeswald who passed away in February of 2005. The family extends grateful thanks to his doctors, nurses, Hospice of the Valley, family members and friends for their kindness.
The family will receive friends from 4 - 8PM Thursday at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Hospice of the Valley.
