Charles Luketic

CANFIELD - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, 3701 Starr’s Centre Drive, for Mr. Charles V. Luketic, 59, who passed away Sunday evening at home with his loving family by his side.

Charles, affectionally known as "Chuck," was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on May 20, 1959, a son of Charles B. and the late Loretta (Leshnak) Luketic.

Always remembered as a hard worker, he began delivering news papers at age 13. He then attended Austintown Fitch High School.

As a young man, Chuck loved Motocross. He began racing at age 15 and continued to race throughout his life. Eventually he inspired his grandson, Nick, to love the sport and enjoyed nothing more than to watch the excitement on his grandson’s face as he won numerous races.

Chuck also loved hunting and fishing.

One of Chuck’s greatest passions was doing auto body work. As a young man, he began working at various auto body shops before opening his own, “Luketic’s Auto Body” which he ran for over 40 years.

Chuck’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends during the holidays. He loved making his grandchildren smile at Christmas by giving them unique gifts.

Chuck leaves behind two children: Charles R. Luketic of Youngstown and Alicia (Shawn C. Russell) Luketic of Struthers; two brothers: Michael (Betsy) Luketic of Austintown and Brian Luketic of Canfield; one sister, Denise (John) Korandovich of Austintown; four grandchildren: Colin V. Martin, Chloe L. Martin, Nicholas R. Luketic, and Aiden B. Russell; a niece, Raelene M. Korandovich; many aunts, uncles and cousins; He also leaves behind dear friends George and Rhonda Scott of Ellsworth, Ohio.

Chuck was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Mary (Franczyk) Luketic, and Mike and Mary (Shimshok) Leshnak.

Friends may attend calling hours on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
