Charles Mcmurray

Services will be Wednesday morning at 10:30 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland chapel, and at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church for Charles H. McMurray age 73 of Meadville, PA., formerly of Girard, OH who passed away Saturday afternoon at the Meadville medical Center.

Charles was born September 12, 1933 in Youngstown, the son of Thomas and Coletta Volgelberger McMurray.

Charles graduated from St. Dominic's grade school, and from Woodrow Wilson High School. A Korean War veteran he served in the Navy aboard the USS West Chester County from 1953 to 1957. Mr. McMurray worked at the East Ohio Gas Company for over 32 years before retiring. He was a former member of St. Rose Church in Girard, and the Youngstown Saxon Club, a lifetime member of the VFW, and a member of the USS Westchester County Association.

He is survived by his wife the former Diane Farrell whom he married March 24, 2000, two daughters Deborah Thomas Heydle of Hubbard Twp., and their children Michelle and Thomas Heydle, Catherine Michael Fluent of Girard and their children Bryce and Brittany Fluent, two sons, Thomas Lindy McMurray of Poland and their daughter Katelyn McMurray ; Charles McMurray of Hubbard Twp., four step daughters, Loraine Farrell of Rimersburg, PA, Lisa Hart, Lynette Scot Watkins, and Katherine Farrell and her fiance Nikolas Bajorek all of Meadville, PA, two step sons, William Amy Farrell of Wilmington, NC, and Michael Susan Farrell of St. Leonard, MD, two sisters, Donna Jean Joseph Hoke of Rockford, ILL, and Mary Lou Sheets of Boardman, two brothers, Donald Margaret McMurray of Youngstown, and John "Jack" Joanne McMurray of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter in law Catherine McMurray.

Friends may call from 2 to 4, and from 7 to 9 Tuesday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral home, Poland Chapel.
