Charlotte A. Emery, 83, passed away on November 14, 2024, at University Hospital.
Born on June 25, 1941, in Youngstown.
She brought joy to the world and warmth to all those who were fortunate enough to know her. Charlotte led a life marked by dedication, not only in her career but, more importantly, to her family and loved ones.
Charlotte graduated from Ursuline High School in 1959 and went on to forge a respectable career as a secretary for US Steel. She later became a salesperson and bookkeeper for Dazzlers Jewelers and then McCormick Jewelers, exemplifying a strong work ethic that she passed down through generations. Yet it was not just her professional endeavors that defined her; it was her unwavering devotion to her family that was at the heart of who she was.
Devoting her life to the care of her family, Charlotte nurtured not just her children but also countless memories and always made time to spend with their little ones—her grandchildren, who were the true lights of her life. Charlotte's family was her pride; she filled her days with laughter, love, and endless encouragement.
Charlotte found bliss in life's simple pleasures, whether it was going on family vacations, boating and having picnics or cooking delicious meals with her mom and sister. She loved animals and her dog Blaze. She also loved to clean and decorate and transformed her home into a sacred space filled with love.
While Charlotte has left behind many beautiful memories, the loss is felt deeply by her surviving family. She is survived by her children, William J. (Molly) Emery of Stow, Robert W. (Laurie) Emery of Austintown, Jeffrey J. Emery of Youngstown, and Janet M. McKelvey of Canal Fulton. She also leaves behind her beloved sister, Carole (Joe) Corrigan of Austintown, her niece, Keri (Vince) Pantloni of Pittsburgh, their children Patrick and Carolyne; her cousin John (Ellen) Kohl of Cortland and her eleven grandchildren, Tara, Rory, Gracie, Keegan, Bobby, Brooke, Jeffrey, Marisa, Aaron, Claire, and Leigh and her four great-grandchildren, Cameron, Dakota, Harper, and Maggie, with others on the way.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her devoted husband, William F. Emery, whom she married on July 22, 1961, and who concluded his earthly journey on April 7, 2024, as well as her parents, Henry and Agnes Gbur Bieltz.
Private Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Christine Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Animal Charity Humane Society, 8469 Southern Blvd Building 3, Youngstown, OH 44514.
