YOUNGSTOWN - Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church West Austintown for Cheryl L. Bodnar, 60, who passed away early Thursday morning at Hospice House.
Cheryl was born March 14, 1955, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Donald and Shirley (Schenck) Williams.
Cheryl was a 1973 graduate of South High School and a graduate of the Youngstown College of Business and Professional Drafting. She was a legal secretary for the Cafaro Company. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women and was active in Relay for Life. Cheryl enjoyed playing cards, shopping, and baking cookies. Her greatest love was for her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Cheryl leaves her husband, Michael Bodnar, whom she married Aug. 22, 1981; three daughters, Kerry Sierra, Theresa (Stanley) Kosinski, and Marisa Bodnar, all of Youngstown; a son, Michael Paul (Dana) Bodnar of Youngstown; nine grandchildren, Kayla (Ryan), Jena, Ashley, Amber, Madison, Abby, Jordan, Erin and Dalton; a great-grandchild, Jonah; two sisters, Sandra (John) Avery of Lake Milton and Grace Stacchiotti of Girard; and two brothers, Donald (Darlene) Williams of Austintown, David Williams of Clearwater, Fla.; and a brother-in-law, Robert Mancini of Howland.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Diana Mancini; and a brother, Freddy Williams.
Family and friends may pay their respects Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Material tributes may take the form of donations to the Childhood Blood and Cancer Fund Akron Children's Hospital and sent to Showers Family Center, Akron Children's Hospital, One Perkins Square, Akron, OH 44308.
Professional arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
