Cheryl Ann Davidson Brandt Sandberg, 75, went home to meet her Lord on Thursday June 20th at Austintown Healthcare Center, after battling a long term illness.
She was born July 1, 1948, in Warren, a daughter of the late Duane W. and Vera L. Etzweiler Davidson.
She was a 1966 graduate of Jackson Milton High School and attended classes at Kent State University. Cheryl then spent 40 years of her career in the workers compensation field, starting as a secretary and ending as chief claims examiner and trainer. She went on to be a field reviewer with Frank Gates Services Co.. From there she worked as claims executive with Boyd Riemmel Carlick. She left to represent the employees as a district manager/hearing representative with Compensation Consultants, and ended her work history as a hearing representative with Care Works.
Cheryl was a member of First Federated Church of North Jackson, where she headed up caring groups called the FROGS. She then went on to attend Believers Church in Warren.
Cheryl was a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 737. She was also voted as Business Women of the Year. She was a past member of the Girard Junior Women's Club and belonged to the Warriors of Youngstown.
Her hobbies included listening to music, watching TV while playing with her cat Abby, playing cards, traveling, bowling, shopping and going to eat.
She had a special place in her heart for best friends Sandy Terlecki, Kathy Huntsicker, Susie Helmick, Tammy Soletro, Karen Higgins, and Mary DiTommceso, and Joanne Maries, who passed away.
Cheryl's heart was filled with pride and love of her sons and grandchildren when they visited, called or texted. She leaves behind her three sons, Erik (Connie) Brandt of Niles, Jason Brandt of Weathersfield and Todd (Shelli) Sandberg of Columbus; two grandsons, Christopher Brandt and Jack Sandberg; 5 granddaughters, Shannon (Jake) Danes, Rachel (Evan) Tarr, Molly Sandberg, Jasmine Sandberg, and Hannah Street; and her former husband, William F. Brandt Jr.
Cheryl was preceded in death by the love of her life, John Michael Sandberg; son, Scott Sandberg; grandparents, Twyla and Charles Etzweiler and Bertha and Clyde Baldwin.
Family and friends may call Wednesday June 26th from 10 to 12 PM where a service will follow at 12 PM at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Jackson-MIlton Chapel.
