YOUNGSTOWN - Services will be Monday at 9:30 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, and at 10:00 AM at St. Christine Church for Chester T. "Chet" Dubiel age 75 who passed away early Thursday morning at Hospice House.
Chet was born May 16, 1931, in Youngstown, the son of Thaddeus and Anna Kucharski Dubial.
He was a 1949 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School where he had earned All City Honors in football, earning him a scholarship to Purdue University. He served in the Navy during the Korean War, circumnavigating the world. He later worked at Pepsi Cola of Youngstown for over 42 years. He retired as its fountain and vending supervisor in 1992.
Chet had been inducted into the Wilson High School athletic Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in football. He was a member of St. Christine Church and its golf league, Eagles # 3298 in Austintown, the VFW, the Youngstown baseball old-timers, and had co-chaired the Wilson High School all sports golf outing for many years.
He is survived by his wife the former Ruth M. Matisik whom he married July 5, 1952, two daughters Sheri Scott Summers, and Monica Jack Durkin both of Boardman, two sons Dave Hanna Dubiel of Columbus, and John Joan Dubiel of Boardman, ten grandchildren, Stacy, Scott, David, Patrick, Erick, Leslie, Natalie, John, Renee, and Kevin, and a sister Delores Ed Luth of Mineral Ridge.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Richard Dubial.
