NORTH LIMA - A memorial service will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Chester W. Starr Jr., 64, who passed away Wednesday morning at Ivy Woods Manor.
Chester was born March 13, 1947, in Youngstown, the son of the late Chester William Starr Sr. and Virginia Perish Starr Haney.
Chester was a 1965 graduate of Western Reserve High School and attended The Ohio State University. He was a crane operator for LTV Steel. He was an artist and made many oil paintings. He was a loyal OSU fan.
Chester was a very caring and giving person and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Chester leaves his two sisters, Audrey Dick Rhinehart and Gerry Ron Banks, both of Ellsworth; his two brothers, Larry Starr of Ellsworth and Jeff Leslie Starr of Lynhurst, Ill.; an aunt, Irene Perish of Canfield; his nieces and nephews, Tracy Rhinehart, Cindy Lanterman, Richard Rhinehart Jr., Ron Banks Jr., Kerry Leeman, Brianna Starr, Casey Starr, Joshua Starr, Cody Starr and Nathan Starr; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Material tributes may take the form of donations to the Salvation Army or Ivy Woods Manor.
