YOUNGSTOWN - Funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Ms. Christine A. Hanuschak, 94, who died early Saturday morning at Meridian Arms Nursing Home.
Ms. Hanuschak was born Dec. 18, 1921, in Youngstown, daughter of Alex Sr. and Mary (Leachman) Hanuschak, and was a lifelong resident of the Youngstown area.
Christine was a faithful member of St. Michael Orthodox Church in Youngstown, where she was a member of the altar society and a church trustee. She worked for the Anchor Cigar Co. as a Warehouse Supervisor for 43 years, before retiring in 1988. She was also involved in the St. Edward Garden Club, St. Peter and Paul Senior Citizen Society, and the Christian Women's Society.
Christine will be sadly missed by her brother, Mike (Yolanda) Hanuschak of Youngstown; brother-in-law John Mancini of Youngstown; sister-in-law Evelyn Hanuschak of Youngstown; many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Besides her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her five sisters, Many Hanuschak, Anne Bizyk, Kay Mancini, Julie Kimotek, and Josephine Pitzo; and three brothers, Chip, Nick, and Alex Hanuschak Jr.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
