BOARDMAN - Services will be Tuesday at 9:30 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, and at 10:00 AM at St. Christine Church for Clara L. Jones age 88 of Boardman who passed away Friday morning at Humility House.
Clara was born December 11, 1916, in Youngstown, the daughter of James and Giovanna Clementi DiPiero.
She had worked for the Youngstown School System as a cafeteria worker at South High School for over eight years before retiring. She was a member of St. Christine Church, and its choir. She was also a member, and past president of the Oblite Sisters Ladies Auxiliary, a member and officer of the Cornersburg Happy Seniors, and a past member of the Monday Seniors mixed bowling league.
She is survived by her husband Carl D. Jones whom she married November 27, 1987, two daughters Elaine Martin Moran of Gastonia, NC, and Mary Ellen Michael Comer of Haslett, MI, two sons James P. Teresa Sferra of Goshen, OH, and John E. Valerie Sferra of Howland, OH, a sister, Ida DePiero of Boardman, seventeen grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband John Sferra who died September 20, 1973, three sisters, Gilda and Dina DiPiero, and Ann Tomillo, and two brothers, Dante, and Patrick DiPiero.
Friends may call from 4 PM to 7 PM Monday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
The family requests that material tributes take the form of donations to St. Christine Church.
