Florida - Clarence E. Burkey, 89, of Casselberry, Florida formerly of New Middletown died Tuesday afternoon Oct. 5 in Central Florida Hospital.
Mr. Burkey was born March 31, 1921 in Columbiana, a son of John and Elizabeth Hough Burkey.
He moved from Fremont, Ohio to Florida 25 years ago. He had been employed as a long distance truck driver for several companies. He was an Army veteran Of WWII attaining the rank of Corporal, a member of the Starlight Baptist Church, Teamsters Local 20 and a 33rd degree Mason.
He leaves his wife Evelyn Burkey of Casselberry, Florida;a sister Mary Rohrman Of New Middletown; a half-sister Helen Olsen of Bend, Oregon and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara Burkey and 2 brothers Raymond and Robert Burkey.
Friends may call from 12:15 PM to 1:15 PM Wednesday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel.
A military committal service will be held at 2:00 PM at the Zion Cemetery in New Middletown.
