A Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Boardman for Colin Dennison Hart, 18, of Boardman, who died early Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009.
Colin was born Aug. 29, 1991, in Moscow, Russia, and came to the United States and to Boardman on May 30, 1996, when he was adopted by his parents, Michael and Helen "Sue" Reigelman Hart.
He was a senior at Cardinal Mooney High School, where he was a fielder and a pitcher for the Mooney Cardinals baseball team.
Colin was an outstanding baseball player and was active in youth baseball for many years, playing in the Boardman Community, Babe Ruth and Class B leagues. He played on the 2006 Boardman Community League state championship team, where he pitched the championship winning game, and he played on the 2007 Babe Ruth League state championship team.
Colin was a member of St. Charles Church, and attended St. Charles grade school, where he was active in many sports, including football and baseball, and was a member of the Indian Guides. He was a frequent volunteer at the St. Vincent DePaul soup kitchen in downtown Youngstown, working along side his grandfather serving hot meals to the needy.
He was an outgoing and personable young man who had many friends and was well loved by his family.
Colin is survived by his parents of Boardman; his younger sister, Sarah Hart at home; his grandparents, Herman and Sally Reigelman of Brookfield and John Bob and Ellen Jayne Hart of Boardman; aunts and uncles Robert Hart, Thomas and Jodie Hart, Kathleen and Craig Weaver and Brian Hart, all of Boardman, Karen and Jay Gresh of Austintown, Richard and LisaAbraham Hart of Warren, Jack Hart of Aztec, N.M., Tom and Linda Reigelman of Hubbard, Bob and Shelly Reigelman of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Tim and Denise Reigelman of Colorado Springs, Col.; and many cousins and great-aunts and great-uncles.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
The family requests that material tributes be made in Colin's name to the Cardinal Mooney Baseball program.
