AUSTINTOWN - Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, with the Very Rev. George Gage officiating, for Connie "Deanie" Prassinos-Swan, 83, who fell asleep in the Lord Friday afternoon at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Constantina was born Jan. 19, 1935, in Campbell, a daughter of the late Theodore and Julia (Kosty) Prassinos.
Connie graduated from Campbell Memorial High School.
She was a book keeper for the Postal Mail Sort, retiring in 2013 at the age of 79.
Family was important to her and she loved her visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Connie was proud of her Greek heritage and was able to travel to Greece twice. She enjoyed football and was an avid Steelers and Ohio State fan. She also had a great opportunity to visit every NFL home stadium.
Connie leaves her daughter, Dianne (Harry) Bitner of Austintown; son, Wayne Yurak of Brookfield; three grandchildren, Heather (Dominic) Mileto, Deana (Joshua) Dunham, and Alexis (Aaron) White; five great-grandchildren, Giovanni and Antonio Mileto, Audrey Dunham, Reagan and Grant White; and three sisters, Sylvia (Roy) Bauer of Texas, Susan DePasquale of Youngstown, and Theodora (David) Ramos of Boardman.
Connie was also preceded in death by her sisters, Joann Dieter, Elizabeth Poccia, and Mary Catherine Prassinos.
Family and friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Entombment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, material tributes take form of donations to Southern Care Hospice of Youngstown, 5401 Ashley Circle, Austintown, OH 44515.
