CANFIELD - Crystal Bethleen "Bessie" Landers Garrett went home to be with the Lord on Saturday morning at her home.
She was born May 4, 1919, in Charleston, W.Va., to the late Oley L. and Mertha F. Landers.
Bessie was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Campbell, where she served faithfully for over 50 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl G. Garrett; a son, Kevin L. Garrett; brothers, Lawrence Landers, Howard Landers and Carl Landers; and sisters, Reba Belcher, Sylvia Burgess, Dovie Brown and Elsie Elswick.
She is survived by her children, Jerry (Mary) Garrett of Minerva, Peggy (Lester) McIntyre of Youngstown, Greta (Lou) Magazzine of Boardman, and Sandra Garrett of Canfield; brother, Stanley (Shirley) Landers of Campbells Creek, W.Va.; sister Ruby McDaniels of Malden, W.Va.; four grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Debbie Garlich and Hospice of the Valley for the love and care they gave to Bessie at her time of need.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, 3701 Starrs Centre Drive, Boardman, with Paster Matt Ferguson officiating.
Burial will take place at the Snyder Family Cemetery, Glenville, W.Va.
Family and friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
