NORTH LIMA - Dale H. Standley, 86, died peacefully early Monday morning at Hospice House surrounded by his family.
Dale was born April 13, 1932, in Farmdale, the son of Arner and Faye (Diday) Standley.
After graduating high school, Dale served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Dale worked as a welder for E.W. Bliss in Salem for many years until retiring.
In his spare time, he was a gentleman farmer.
Dale’s wife, the former Martha Boldt, whom he married June 15, 1957, died Sept. 4, 2014.
He is survived by his children, Marsha (Craig) Osborn of Madison, AL and Dale (Davene) Standley, Jr. of North Lima; and six grandchildren, Brandon, Hannah, Brian, Diana, Jason and Evan.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and sister Betty Jean Hadley.
Per Dale’s wishes, there will be no public calling hours or services.
Family and close friends will be notified of a private celebration of life planned for the summer.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Rd. Youngstown, OH 44514 or to the Salvation Army Northeast Ohio Division, 1249 N Ellsworth Ave. Salem, OH 44460.
