AUSTINTOWN ? A memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday morning, at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Daniel Lozier, 53, who went to share in the promise of the resurrection early Thursday morning, at the Hospice House.
Dan was born June 3, 1957, in Youngstown, the son of Frank W. and Mary McGonagle Lozier. He was a 1975 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and later attended Ohio State University and Miami Dade University.
Dan will be remembered as a spiritual person, who was for a time, a Trappist Monk at Our Lady of Gethsemani Monastery in Kentucky. He worked many years as a chef and restaurant manager. He recently lived and worked in Long Island, N.Y. Dan had an avid interest in physics, theology, mathematics, chess, cooking and painting, but mostly he gave love at every stop on his journey.
He will be missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his mother, Mary Lozier of Austintown; three brothers, Lawrence Lozier of New York, Steve Maria Lozier of Aurora and Charles M. Lozier of Canton; a niece, Julie Lozier; two nephews, Brandon and Nick Lozier; and two great-nephews, Cameron and Mason Lozier.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank W. Lozier; and a brother, Raymond T. Lozier.
Friends may call Saturday morning for a half hour prior to services at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
The family has requested, that material tributes take the form of donations to the donors favorite charity in Daniel?s memory.
