CANFIELD - Prayers will be held Friday at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Youngstown for Daniel R. O'Hara, 64, who passed away early Tuesday morning at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Daniel was born Feb. 27, 1948, in Youngstown, a son of the late Robert H. and Hazel Salvatore O'Hara.
Daniel was a 1967 graduate of Chaney High School. He was a paint coordinator for GM for 40 years and was a member of the UAW Local No. 1112. Daniel was a Lieutenant with the Austintown Fire Department from 1973 to 1986 and was a Captain of the Ellsworth Fire Department from 1986 to 2004. He later worked at Baird Brothers Sawmill in Canfield
He loved hunting and fishing. Daniel also won numerous ribbons for his wild life oil paintings at the Canfield Fair, as well as participating in art shows at the Butler Art Institute and the Hoxt Art Museum in New Castle.
Daniel leaves his wife, the former Rosemary Perry, whom he married Oct. 10, 1970; his two sons, Daniel A. Christine O'Hara of Austintown and Michael P. O'Hara of Canfield; two sisters, Maureen Edward Joseph of Lowellville and Melanie Larry Cronk Youngstown; and three brothers, Gerald Barbara O'Hara of Youngstown, Robert H. Nancy O'Hara of Canfield, and Timothy Denise O'Hara of Austintown.
Family and friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
