BOARDMAN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today at 1 pm at St. Dominic's Parish, 77 E Lucius Ave. in Youngstown, for Dante "Danny" DiLisio, 72, who passed away peacefully on Dec. 6, 2017.
He was born on May 22, 1945, in Pacentro, Italy a son of the late Guerino and Maria (Serafini) DiLisio.
Dante was a 1964 graduate of East High School, after he graduated he served his country proudly during the Vietnam War as a military police officer for the Army. He worked at the U.A.W. Local No. 1112 as a union official for General Motors for 39 years.
In his free time, he enjoyed playing bocce, golfing and watching the Godfather. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Yankee fan. He loved the Italian culture and had a deep passion for black Cadillacs. Danny's most precious memories were spent with his family and friends whom he loved and adored.
Danny will be deeply missed by his children, a daughter, Danitra DiLisio, of Boardman; a son, Gary (Ashley) DiLisio, of Canfield; two grandsons, Owen and Ethan DiLisio; a sister Mary (Robert) Rispoli, of Naples, Fla.; a brother, Tony (Patti) DiLisio, of Poland; and his former wife, the mother of his children, Nancy Ann DiLisio, of Boardman.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Rita Herron.
Prayers will be held at 12:15 p.m. today, Saturday Dec. 9, 2017, at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, where family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of prayers.
In lieu of flowers, material tributes may take form of donation in care of the funeral home to assist the family at this time.
