YOUNGSTOWN- Prayers will begin on Thursday, at 9:15 a.m. at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the former Scared Heart Church, St. Angela Merici for Darlene M. Kerensky, 33, who died Saturday afternoon, on her favorite holiday, Halloween, at home surrounded by her loving family, after a brief battle with cancer.
Ms. Kerensky was born on April 13, 1982 in Youngstown, a daughter of Robert D. and Mary G. (Harvischak) Kerensky.
She attended Chaney High School, and enjoyed bowling in her spare time. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her K-9 companion, Cuddles.
Darlene leaves behind her mother, Mary Kerensky, and her companion, Christopher Weimer, with whom she made her home; sister Danielle Wiery, of Youngstown; her twin brother, James and her other brother, William Kerensky, both of Youngstown; her nephew, James "J.J.," known as "Nephew Kerensky" of Austintown; boyfriend Dennis Novosel; many aunts, uncles, cousins; beloved friends; and her loving dog, Cuddles.
Darlene was preceded in death by her father, Robert Kerensky; maternal grandparents, Mary and William Harvischak; and paternal grandparents, Donald and Iona Kerensky.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
