David Abrahamson

MORRISVILLE, N.C. - Prayers will begin at 10:15 a.m. Saturday morning at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Church, 5235 South Ave. in Boardman for David J. Abrahamson, 35, who passed away on Jan. 18, 2011, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

David was born on July 24, 1975, in Minneapolis, Minn. His family moved to the Poland area in 1979.

He was a graduate of Poland Seminary High School, class of 1994. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Kent State University in 1998.

On Aug. 18, 2001, David married the love of his life, Maria Sunseri of Boardman.

David was employed with RJ Reynolds in Seattle as a Key Accounts Manager at the time he was diagnosed. He also lived in Traverse City, Mich., Grand Rapids, Mich., Hickory, N.C. and Discovery Bay, Calif., during his career. He was also a partner in Imbibe Martini Bar in Youngstown.

David's passions were skydiving, fishing, landscaping and cooking.

David never met a stranger. His contagious smile and great sense of humor won him many lasting friendships through his years.

David was baptized by St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Cary, N.C. on Jan. 5, 2011, and also received his first communion.

He is survived by his loving wife, Maria; daughter, Alli Marie; and son, Davin Ross.

Parents are James and Sheryl Abrahamson of Morrisville, N.C. Sisters are Donelle Abrahamson-Ahmad of Keller, Texas, Michelle Robell of Palo Alto, Calif. and brother, Michael of Morrisville.

He was survived by his in-laws, Ed and Kathy Sunseri of Boardman and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in rest by his mother, Betty Abrahamson in 1994 and his grandparents, Clifford 2002 and Fern Abrahamson 2010.

Calling hours will be held today, Jan. 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, located at 2726 Center Road in Poland.

A Cursillo Bible Vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral services will begin at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Luke Church, 5235 South Ave. in Boardman on Saturday, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m.
