POLAND - Prayers will be held Monday at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Columba Cathedral, for David S. Ruehle, 67, who passed away early Thursday morning at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
David was born Jan. 14, 1947, in New Castle, Pa., a son of the late Lester D. and Alice (Simpson) Ruehle.
David was a 1965 graduate of Poland Seminary High School. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. He was owner/operator of David's Heating Company. He enjoyed doing yard work and gardening. David loved playing golf and spending time with his golf friends. He was also an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. His greatest love was for his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren.
David leaves his wife, the former Janet A. Berry, whom he married Sept. 8, 1995; his three daughters, Tamara (Dale) Jablonski of Twinsburg, Andrea Ruehle of Poland, and Jennifer Mansfield of Chagrin Falls; a son, Ted Mansfield of Poland; four grandchildren, David, Noah and Lauren Jablonski and Lilly Kraynak; two nieces, Heather Forer and Alexis Martin; and a nephew, Michael Ruehle.
David was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Ruehle.
Family and friends may pay their respects Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
