CANFIELD — Dayna Ann Cooper, 67, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, with her husband Greg, brother Mike and extended family by her side, after an extended illness due to complications of earlier surgery.
Born April 15, 1957, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to the late Lon and Helen Dillman who moved to Boardman, in 1968, Dayna graduated from Boardman High School in 1975 and attended Bowling Green State University. Dayna was passionate about her family and enjoyed many great years of marriage and in support of her husband’s Naval career. Throughout her life, she and her husband established residences in Pensacola, Florida; Meridian, Mississippi; The Republic of the Philippines; San Diego, California; Jacksonville, Florida; Fairfax, Virginia; Annapolis, Maryland; and ultimately in Canfield beginning in 2006.
One of Dayna’s greatest joys was being surrounded by her family and friends. From hosting holidays and Sunday family dinners, to gathering with the friends made from her many home bases over the years, Dayna’s joy was founded in creating a sense of togetherness.Dayna served as the St. Michael Catholic Church life center manager for several years and loved her Canfield community.
Dayna is survived by her husband of 46 years, Captain USN (Ret.) Greg Cooper; her brother, Michael Dillman of Boardman; and her children, Major (USAR) Gregory (Melissa) of Jacksonville, Florida, Hon. Magistrate Michael (Kim) of Norton, Scott (Megan) of Mars, Pa., Brett (Colleen) of Boardman and Allyson (fiancé, Cole Popichak) of Poland. In addition, she leaves behind a special cousin, Cindy Hart, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She will be greatly missed by her adoring grandchildren, Alana, Ari, Sadie of Jacksonville, Caroline and Sloane of Mars, Pa., and Kennedy and Cassidy of Boardman.
Calling hours to celebrate Dayna’s life will be 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024, at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Boardman-Canfield Chapel, 3701 Starr’s Center Drive, Canfield, OH 44406.A funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 300 N Broad St., Canfield, OH 44406.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Legion Post #177, P.O.
