POLAND - Deloris "Dee Dee" Philibin passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
A prayer service will be held on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Youngstown, officiated by the Rev. Edward Noga.
Dee Dee was born Feb. 22, 1931, in Youngstown to George and Bessie (Girts) Miller.
She attended Youngstown College where she was a cheerleader and a member of the Phi Lambs. Dee Dee had worked at Ohio Bell and later in life worked at Roncone Studio. She was an avid Cleveland sports fan, but her greatest love was for the Cleveland Indians. The one thing that she tried to instill in her family was to always live by the Golden Rule.
Dee Dee leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Bernard "Ben" Philibin, whom she married on Sept. 17, 1956; her five sons, Tim (Sonia) of Orlando, Fla., Dave of Youngstown, Dan (Jennifer) of Philadelphia, Dr. Terry (Anita) of Vienna and Tom Philibin of Erie, Pa.; and eleven grandchildren, Sean, Gina, Patrick, Kevin, Megan, Kyle, Elizabeth, Andrew, Brian, Christopher and Katie.
Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
