AUSTINTOWN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary for Dolores M. Sturtz, 86, who went home to be with the Lord on Sunday at Hospice House in Poland.
Dolores was born on Nov. 4, 1931, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Elmer and Katherine (Bakish) Gaydosh.
She was a 1949 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. Dolores worked at Ohio Bell as a technician for over 40 years. In her free time, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, bowling and her yearly trips with her girlfriends to Atlantic city.
She is survived by a daughter, with whom she made her home, Kathy (Terry Flethcer) Costello, of Boardman; and a son, David (Sherry) Sturtz of Youngstown; four grandchildren, Jamie Fonner, Jennifer (Alex) Bayer, Alex Sturtz, Hailey Strutz; five great-grandchildren, Jared, Paige, Erika, Vaughn, Lily; and a sister, Marlene (Rick) Shipley.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Kovalchick; and a brother, Paul Gaydosh.
Friends and family may call from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 1:20 p.m. at the church.
Care was entrusted to the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may take form of a donation in Dolores’s name to Hospice of the Valley or a charity of your choice.
