POLAND - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Church for Don A. Polas, 91, who passed away Sunday at Beeghly Oaks Nursing Home.
Don was born Oct. 8, 1919, in Hillsville, Pa., the son of the late Ben and Flora Chutz Polas.
Don graduated from Lowellville High School. He served in the Army during World War II. Don was owner of Don A. Polas Realty in Poland. He was a member of the Holy Family Church.
His wife, the former Rose D. D'Amico, whom he married May 29, 1953, passed away Sept. 23, 2010.
Don leaves his daughter, Kathy John III Giovanni of Oceanside, Calif.; his brother, Leonard Janet Polas of Poland; two grandchildren, John Giovanni IV of Oceanside and Cerissa Giovanni of Los Angeles; and a great-granddaughter, Gianna Cannon of Austintown.
Don was also preceded in death by a sister, Rose Ambrosia.
Family and friends may call Saturday from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel.
