Donald Bobby

AUSTINTOWN - Prayers will begin Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Donald J. Bobby, 84, who died Tuesday afternoon at his home with his family at his side.

Donald was born March 30, 1927, in Campbell, the son of Joseph and Mary Rushen Bobby.

He was a 1945 graduate of Struthers High School and had served in the Navy during World War II. Donald began his career in the steel industry at Republic Steel in Youngstown and later retired from the Chemical Lab of LTV Steel in Warren in 1986. He was a charter member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, was a member of its Men's Club, and a school bus driver for it's elementary school. Donald also volunteered his time to the Austintown Baseball Association as a manager and coach of Little League and Girls Softball for over 35 years.

He is survived by his wife, the former Mary T. Mahon, whom he married Sept. 1, 1951; two daughters, Mary Beth Bobby of Austintown and Judy Brian Fedyski of McDonald; four sons, Donald J. Carol Bobby of Alexandria, Va., Thomas R. Bobby of Austintown, Michael of Austintown and Kenny J. Bobby of Kernersville, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a niece, Susan Bobby; and a nephew, Richard Bobby.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Bobby.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.

The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512, in Donald's memory.
