Youngstown...Services will be 11:00AM Thursday at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Donald E. Manning, 85 who passed away Monday evening. Mr Manning was born January 20, 1920 in Youngstown, the son of Thomas V. and Theresa McDonaugh Manning.
He was employed with the General Fireproofing Company as a Shipper for over 37 years. He was a member of St. Patrick Church of Youngstown and had been an all-city player and captain for the South High School basketball team. He served his country during World War II with the United States Air Force during which time he received 2 bronze stars.
His wife, the former Dolores M. Lentz, whom he married July 31, 1948, passed away June 14, 2000.
He leaves a daughter, Deborah Bish of Youngstown, a son, James E. Carol Manning of Youngstown, 5 grandchildren, Melanie Humphrey, Donald and Julie Bish, and Kelley and Richard Manning, and a great-grandson, Cody. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christina Bish, a sister, Madeline, and 5 brothers, Howard, Norman, Matthew, Vincent, and Thomas Manning.
