Donald Melanson

September 21, 1932 — July 1, 2005

YOUNGSTOWN - There will be services Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at
Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, and at 10:00 a.m. at St. Christine Church for Donald J. Melanson, 72, who passed away Friday evening.
Mr. Melanson was born Sept. 21, 1932 in Youngstown, the son of Dennis J. and Bernadette Oliver Melanson.
He was a lineman for Ohio Bell, Ameritech and SBC throughout the years and retired in 1994 with more than 39 years of service.
He served his country during the Korean Conflict with the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion.
He leaves his wife, the former Barbara A. Whitehouse, whom he married Sept. 28, 1963; three daughters, Maureen A. Gary R. Kleiner of Howland, Donna J.
Robert Bolish of Medina and Karen M. Dr. Heath A. Dorion of Kettering; two sons, David J. Donna J. Melanson of Austintown and Edward S. Marcy Melanson of Columbiana; three sisters, Marjorie Schiffhauer of Austintown,
Pauline William Cummings of Austintown and Mary Lou Melanson of Niles; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edward.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
