YOUNGSTOWN - Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Donald F. Milano, 81, who died early Monday morning at his home.
Donald was born Aug. 2, 1933, in Youngstown, the son of Patsy and Mary (Moschelanc) Milano.
He was a graduate of East High School and served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He had been in charge of the laundry department at ValleyCare Northside Medical Center for 17 years and later was a route driver for Pesce Bread for over nine years before retiring. He was a member of ITAM Post No. 3, serving as its commander from 1994 to 2002. He had served as Ohio State ITAM commander from 2000 to 2002. He was an avid Cleveland Indians, Browns and Ohio State fan.
His wife, the former Elaine Malsch, whom he married May 12, 1956, died Oct. 13, 2006.
He is survived by three daughters, Debra (Ray) Easterbrook of Youngstown, Jacklyn (Ray) Archer of Austintown and Darlene (Dan) Stirk of Youngstown; a son, Ronald (Marilyn) Milano of Austintown; five grandchildren, Nikki (Jason) Depp, Melanie (Aaron Briggs) Nackino, Cassidy Stirk, Christa Stirk, and Danielle Stirk; two stepgrandchildren, Zachary and Miranda Easterbrook; a great-granddaughter, Isabella Briggs; and his good friends, Dot and her deceased husband, Bill Campbell.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Rose Garnet; two brothers, Ronald and Bob Milano; and a grandson, Jimmy Nackino.
Mr. Milano's family would like to offer a special thank you to his caregiver, Cyndi, for her wonderful and compassionate care.
