YOUNGSTOWN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Brendans Church with the Rev. Fr. Tim O'Neill officiating, and prayers offered at 10:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Donald Sabel, 76, who died early Saturday morning at the Hospice House.
Don was born in Youngstown on Oct. 29, 1932 to the late John A. and Lillian H. Lederman Sabel.
He was a graduate of South High School in 1951, he attended Kent State University, and recieved his bachelor's degree from Youngstown College in Mechanical Engineering. He was employed by Mehle Engineering in Warren for many years.
He was a member of St. Brendans Church. He enjoyed music, loved to water ski, and never let anything stand in his way.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Joan Lois Gollan and Rhoda Kukura.
He is survived by two nieces, Lori Kiley and Judy Martin; and a nephew, Bob Kukura. Don also leaves his good friends, Steve and Peggy Powlysyn.
Friends may call Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Brendans Church or to the Hospice House in Don's memory.
