Donna Deeds

February 16, 1939 — June 19, 2015

AUSTINTOWN - Donna Jean (James) Deeds 76, passed away unexpectedly on June 19, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Donna was born Feb. 16, 1939, to the late Ralph and Mildred (Altimus) James.
She was a 1957 graduate of North High School in Youngstown. After graduating, she went on to work in various capacities at Ohio Bell (Ameritech) for over 40 years. Donna also worked for several years at the election polls in Austintown.
She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, supporting them by attending many school activities and sporting events. One of Donna's favorite hobbies was traveling, which she often did with family and friends, including trips all over the United States to Europe and Caribbean cruises. She enjoyed waling outside, reading books, playing dominoes and hosting holiday dinners. Since graduating high school, more than five decades ago, she continued to meet monthly with her closest friends, the "57 Club."
Donna was a wonderful woman who always went out of her way for others and brought joy to many. She was independent, smart, and truly lived her life. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her three children, Denise (Alex) Georges, Tammy (Joe) Blazak, and Jeff (Sharon) Deeds; sister Beverly Houy; brother William (Norma) James; grandchildren, Rachel (Barry) Wardle, Adam Blazak (Kelsey Schaefer), Dimitri Georges, and Jared, Justin, and Alyssa Deeds; her dearest friends, Geri Lewis and Janet Donadee; and the "57 Club" ladies; along with many other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents, Donna was preceded in death by five sisters, June Rhinehart, Marion Miller, Evelyn Prem, Margaret Sanderson, and Judy Ann James; and eight brother, Leo, Robert, Glen, Clifford, Russell, Ralph, Raymond, and Warren James.
In her memory, donations can be made to Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave., Youngstown, OH 44509, or online www.millcreekmetroparks.org/get-involved/support. Donations will help preserve the beauty of the flowers and landscape that Donna loved.
The family has entrusted her care to the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
Per Donna's request, a small, private memorial service will take place at a later date.
