AUSTINTOWN - Services will be Friday at 11:00 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Dorothy Palmer Cliffe age 77 of Westchester Dr. who died Monday.
Dorothy was born March 2, 1927, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Julia Temnick Perazich.
She was a 1944 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, and in 1974 graduated from Youngstown State University with her Bachelors in Education with a minor in music. She had also earned teaching certificates from the St. Louis Institute of Music, and Washington University. She had taught piano and organ in the area for over 50 years.
She was a member and advisor of the Upsilon Chapter of PI MU for over 20 years. She was also a member of the Ohio, and Youngstown Music Teachers Associations, the Youngstown Business and Professional Women's Association, and attended the First United Methodist Church of West Austintown.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Beth and Paul Hickson of Austintown, three grandchildren, Paul Hickson Jr., Kristee Huffman, and Julie Seifert-Vargo, two great-grandchildren, Lorissa, and Lance Hickson, and her first husband Harry "Bud" Palmer.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Chuck Perazich, and her second husband Jay Paul Cliffe whom she married April 12, 1975, and who died on September 19, 1997.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 PM Thursday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
The family requests that material tributes take the form of donations to the First United Methodist Church of West Austintown.
