Youngstown - Prayers will be held Friday at 9:30 AM at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Ausintown Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church in Austintown for Dorothy A. Myers who passed away Monday at Hospice House.
Dorothy was born in Altoona, PA, the daughter of Paul W. and Lorine M. Woomer Snyder.
Dorothy attended Ursuline High School and graduated in the class of 1932. She was a secretary for the YMCA for 9 years. She was a member of the Steel Valley Chapter 13 of Ex-POW's, charter member of St. Joseph Church in Austintown, the St. Joseph's Ladies Guild and Golden Agers, 4 year volunteer for Red Cross, 20 year volunteer for St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Dorothy leaves her husband of 68 years Charles E. Myers whom she married May 12, 1942; four daughters Patricia Myers, Kathy Ralph Chenevey, Mary Alice Robert Martin, and Carol George Malinich; two sons Curtis E. Dorothy Myers and James P. Monica Myers; daughter-in-law Linda Myers-Kalb; thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two sisters Lorine Snyder and Caroline Burrows; brother-in-law Charles Moss; and several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death a son Charles Michael Myers; granddaughter Shawana Elaine and several sisters and brothers.
Family and friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
