Dorothy Wilson

AUSTINTOWN - Prayers will be held Friday at 9:30 AM ay Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Dorothy Wilson, 89, who passed away Monday evening at Austintown Care Center.

Dorothy was born Sept. 29, 1928 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Anne Herzick.

Dorothy graduated from Wilson High School.  She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church since 1959, where she was member of their Altar and Rosary Society.  She was also a longtime member of the Try Hards bowling league.

Her husband, Harold Wilson, whom she married June 10, 1950 passed away July 31, 1996.

Dorothy leaves her daughter, Cynthia (Victor) Balogh of Austintown; a son, Michael (Shelly) Wilson of Columbus; a granddaughter; four grandsons; two great granddaughters; two great grandsons; two sisters, Margaret Herzick and Caroline Rudnicki of Austintown; a brother, Nicholas Herzick of AZ; and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was also preceded in death by four of her babies, Kenneth, JoAnne, John Philip, Stephen; a sister, Mary Ann Scott;  and a brother, Steve Herzick;

Family and friends may call Thursday from 4 to 6 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, material tributes may take the form of donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
