YOUNGSTOWN ? Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, with Pastor Wolfgang officiating for Dorothy E. Wolz, 84, who passed away Sunday at Greenbriar Nursing Home.
Dorothy was born May 23, 1926, in Youngstown, the dear daughter of Alan J. and Rosetta R. Jones Ansell.
Dorothy was a charter member of the Cornerstone Presbyterian Church. She was a lifelong member of the community and graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, June Class of 1944. She was employed at Youngstown Sheet and Tube as a secretary. She was a volunteer at the Diabetic Association. She belonged to a card club in high school and continues to this day. With her husband, she traveled the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, as well as many trips to the Caribbean.
Dorothy was the devoted wife of 65 years to her childhood sweetheart, Albert A. Wolz, whom she married Dec. 3, 1945; the beloved mother to her three daughters, Marianne Stein of Cincinnati, Ruth Wolz of Troy, Idaho and Dorothy J. Jones of Cincinnati; a loving sister to Marilyn Dugan of Youngstown; and a dear grandmother to Thomas J. Lealand, Michael Stanish, and Joanna Rose Jones. Dorothy was also the aunt of three nephews, Christopher, Matthew and Eric Dugan.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Alan T, Ansell.
Family and friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Lake Park Cemetery.
