Dr Theall

Dr. Michael Theall, 75, of Poland, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, following a lengthy battle with multiple cardiovascular issues.
He was born on February 16, 1942 in Manchester, NH, a son of John and Doris Theall. Michael was a captain in the US Air Force, serving from 1965 to 1970. He earned his Master degree in 1976, and PhD in 1980, both from Syracuse University. He spent the next thirty-three years in higher education as an educator and department director. A member of fifteen professional organizations, Michael authored or co-authored hundreds of papers and publications over the course of his career. He received multiple awards for his life-long dedication to the improvement of college teaching and evaluation.
Michael was a talented musician, enjoying theater and playing piano and guitar. He was a loving father, having been involved in everything from coaching basketball to leading a Boy Scout troop to chaperoning a high school band trip to Orlando. He enjoyed reading, golf, biking, kayaking, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his eldest son, Adam Theall.
Michael leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years, Louise C. Theall and his brother, John Alan Theall of Durham, NH. He also leaves his sons, Luke R. Theall of Lorain, OH and Eric J. Theall, of Birmingham, AL and his wife Kristina and their two children, Sydney and Emmett. Additionally, he leaves behind Adam's children Emily, Joshua, and Jacob.

Visitation will be held Monday July 31, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home 2726 Center Road Poland OH 44514. There will be a memorial service following visitation hours.
