CANFIELD - Dr. Marty D. Santillo, born July 14, 1946, passed away early Sunday morning, at the Cleveland Clinic, due to complications of cancer.
Marty, originally from Sharon, Pa., graduated in 1964 from Sharon High School. He went on to the University of Toledo, where he played football and baseball. Upon graduation, Marty joined the U.S. Army, where he served as a lieutenant in Vietnam conflict. While dedicating his life to teaching and educating, Marty worked to earn his Ph.D. in Education in 1986.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert J. Vianello.
Marty is survived by his mother, Anne M. Vianello; his wife of 37 years, Theresa C. Santillo; two sons, Douglas B. Lutton (Dr. Suzanne Lutton) and Paul C. Lutton; and six grandchildren, Mark Rodkey, James, Caitlin, Christina, Brian, and Samantha Lutton.
Family and close friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
