"Together Again"

POLAND - Prayers will begin Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Church for Dr. Terrence J. "Doc" Martzial Jr., DDS, 82, who died suddenly Friday afternoon at his home.

Terrence was born Feb. 27, 1933, in Youngstown, the son of Terrence J. and Elizabeth (Perruzzi) Martzial.

He was a 1951 graduate of Ursuline High School, where he played football and later earned his Bachelor's Degree from Youngstown State University. He then earned his Doctorate in Dentistry from Western Reserve University. He also served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force.

Dr. Martzial served area families for more than 50 years from his dental office in New Middletown before retiring.

He was a member of the Holy Family Church, president of the local chapter of the Corydon Palmer Dental Society and the Mahoning Valley Stamp Club, vice president of the Youngstown Morra League the New Middletown Lions Club, the American Air Mail Society, the Sons of the American Legion, was an authority on Zeppelin memorabilia and was a generous supporter of numerous charities and clubs, including 4-H.

Dr. Martzial was an avid sports fan who enjoyed cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers and Browns. He loved baseball and coached for the Poland Baseball Association at numerous levels, for more than 30 years. Dr. Martzial also enjoyed his annual trips to Las Vegas with his family.

His wife, the former Patricia Agnone, the love of his life and high school sweetheart, whom he married June 22, 1957, died May 5, 2014.

He is survived by two daughters, Jodie Martzial and Lisa (Chris Childs) Martzial, both of Poland; a son, Dr. Terrence J. ( Linda) Martzial III, DDS; seven grandchildren, James, Joshua, and Jacob Miletta, Nicole and Natalie Martzial, Tara and Tiffany Childs; four great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Anna Delfino of Boardman.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Dalton Childs; and a brother, Oreste Martzial.

Doc will be remembered as a loving, compassionate and caring person and will be missed by everyone whose life he touched.
