AUSTINTOWN ? Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Earl O. Irwin, 83, who passed away Monday at St. Elizabeth Health Center.

Earl was born March 1, 1927, in Struthers, the son of Leslie Hewett and Doris Elizabeth Schenck Irwin.

Earl served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Occupation Medal and the Victory Medal. He worked at Mahoning County Courthouse as an electrician for 31 years, retiring in 1988. Earl also worked for Carnegie Steel, Davis Coal, Sunshine-Biscuit, and Sunoco. He was a member of AARP AFSCME 1156-A, also AFSCME Retiree Chapter 1184, N.R.A., P.E.R.S and Public Employee Retirees Inc. and Mature Outlook.

Earl leaves his niece, Debbie Irwin of Austintown; a great-nephew, Donald Francheska Irwin of Austintown; and a brother, William Irwin of Athens.

Besides his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his stepmother, Gertrude Andrews; two sisters, Dorothy D. Irwin and Carol Burns; and a brother, Larry Irwin.

Family and friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
