DANIELS, W.VA. - Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Forest Lawn Cemetery for Earl "Billy" Richmond, 80, who died Thursday at the Select Specialty Hospital in Charleston, W.Va.
Born on June 7, 1935, in Longbottom, W.Va., he was a longtime resident of Daniels.
Earl served in the U.S. Navy for three years. He was a loyal employee to General Motors for nearly 30 years, retiring in 1996. He attended the First Baptist Church in Beaver, and loved spending time with his family and also loved to fish.
He will be missed dearly by his family. His memory will be honored and cherished by all those who knew him.
Earl was preceded in death by his first wife, Della Richmond; a brother, Edward Richmond; sisters Helen Plumley, Jean Campbell, and Louise Blake; and an infant son.
He leaves behind his wife, Gail Radford Richmond; two sons, Phillip Richmond and wife Lucille and Michael Richmond, all of Youngstown; two stepsons, Richard Radford and wife Tammy of Daniels and Jeff Radford and wife Lori of Shady Spring; his sister, Nancy Hamilton of Richfield; brothers John Wesley Richmond and wife Pearl of Fayetteville and David Roy Richmond and wife Annie of White Sulphur Springs; grandchildren Ashley and Tabitha Richmond; stepgrandchildren Seth, Kristi, Josh, and Rebekah; numerous beloved nieces and nephews; a stepbrother, Thomas Marion and wife Dollie of Ramp; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Tom and Greta Wood; brother-in-law Earl Wood; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Betty and Glen Virts; a brother-in-law, Rheo Richmond of Abraham; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Florence Forren and her husband, Joe, of Fairlea, W.Va.
The family extends special thanks to Mary Jo and all of the ICU staff at the Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital for the special care given to Mr. Richmond.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley today, Oct. 11, 2015, at 1 p.m. Calling hours were Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Professional arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
