Earle Pfund Jr.

AUSTINTOWN - Earle M. Pfund Jr., 68, passed away surrounded by his family and loved ones on Jan. 7, 2019.

Earle was born on Jan. 1, 1951, in Youngstown, to the late Earle and Katherine (Mallog) Pfund Sr.

He was a proud graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, class of 1969, where he held and broke numerous athletic records in track, cross-country and basketball.  After graduation, Earle followed in his father’s footsteps entering into an electrical apprenticeship program with the IBEW Local No. 64.

Earle was employed as an Electrical Journeyman from 1976 to 2016 with numerous electrical companies throughout the Mahoning and Trumbull Valleys: Youngstown Steel Mills, Santon Electric, Tri-Area Electric, Dickey Electric, and his most recent and longest tenure with Liberty Electric, which allowed him to travel the country extensively.

He was a gifted golfer, shooting his most recent hole in one, last summer on the Northside of Mill Creek MetroParks Golf Course  16th hole, where come Spring of 2019, there will sit a memorial bench in his honor dedicated by his family.

Earle had a lifetime passion for Harley Davidson motor cycles, Corvettes, and Superbike racing. He was a competitive billiards shooter and bowler.  After retirement, Earle enjoyed playing golf with his son, Michael, as well as, in various golf leagues.  He sought comfort and relaxation in the sun, and always looked forward to vacationing with his family to the beach. His afternoon routine involved playing Keno at his favorite watering holes, in the company of good friends. He was an animal lover at heart and the highlights of his final days were spent with his beloved grand dog Buckeye by his side.

Earle is survived by his two loving children and their spouses, Michele (Tom) Morley of Dublin, and Michael (Danielle) Pfund of Austintown; his wife, Mariann (Gamble) Pfund of Boardman; his beloved sister, Kathleen (Ray) Orlovsky of Campbell; nephews, Raymond (Kim) Orlovsky, Steven Orlovsky and Paul (Taryn) Orlovsky; and his cherished grand dogs, Buckeye, Gunner and Sloopy.

He was also preceded in death by his dear sister, Mary Ann Pfund.

A celebration of life service will be held at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019.  Friends and family may call from 1 to 3:30 p.m., with a service following at 3:30 p.m.
