Edith Marinelli

February 5, 1914 — January 19, 2008

YOUNGSTOWN - Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Fred Mayhew and Senior Minister Matthew Kuttler officiating at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel for Edith L. "Dolly" Scharsu Marinelli age 93 who passed away Saturday morning at Hampton Woods. Dolly was born February 5, 1914 in
Youngstown, the daughter of Fred and Caroline Schrag Mayhew.

She was a graduate of Wilson High School and was their first Homecoming Queen. She and her husband Ben Scharsu owned and operated Youngstown Sporting
Goods for many years. After Ben's death Dolly contined as owner until 1966.
She was a homemaker and also enjoyed bowling. Dolly especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter Joyce Joe Markovitch of Youngstown; a sister Betty Schram of Youngstown; two brothers Robert Helen Mayhew of Arizona and Fred Mayhew of Austintown; two grandsons Joseph Laura Markovitch and Jeffrey
Robyn Markovitch both of Boardman; and six great grandchildren Joseph, Luke,
Jessica, Jordyn, Jennah and Jeffrey.

Dolly was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands Bernard "Ben" Scharsu
in 1961 and Ralph "Taxi" Marinelli in 1991; her sister Ella Griffith and a her
brother Bill Mayhew.

Family and friends may call from 5 PM to 8 PM Monday and for one hour prior to services Tuesday
morning at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel.

Dolly's family would like to thank the staff at Hampton Woods for their kind and compassionate care for Dolly during her stay.
