“Together Again”

YOUNGSTOWN - Prayers will begin Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. at St. Angela Merici Church, 400 Lincoln Park Drive, in Youngstown, for Edna Bailey, 65, who died suddenly Thursday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Edna was born Feb. 21, 1953, in Amityville, N.Y., the daughter of Harry and Ardell (Pye) Beckhans.

She was a graduate of Division Avenue High School.

Edna was a selfless woman and always took care of others before herself. She loved all animals, but mostly dogs and cats. She tirelessly took in stray cats and would nurse them back to health. Above all, Edna enjoyed the time she spent with her children, especially her grandchildren.

Her husband, Jeffrey S. Bailey, whom she married June 20, 2005, died Aug. 7, 2018.

She is survived by her children, Andrea Brindisi, Raymond (Tina) Permiceo, and Christopher Permiceo all of New York, Jennifer (Leonard Jr.) Veccia of Warren and Scott Bailey of Pa.; her sister, Ann (Tom) Harrington of Florida; her brother, Harry Beckhans of Oklahoma; and 11 grandchildren, Anthony, Andrea, Gina, Chris P., Chris B., John, Kelly, Adrianna, Ashley, Anna and Nick.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; brother John Hoffman; and sisters Pat Faraci and Judy Nelson.

Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home for both Edna and Jeffrey.

The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to a local animal shelter in Edna’s name.
