AUSTINTOWN - Services will be Tuesday at 9:30 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, and at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church for Edward M. Brown age 80 who passed away early Saturday morning at Forum Northside Hospital.
Ed was born July 2, 1926, in Youngstown, the son of Michael E. and Frances Docherty Brown.
He was a 1945 graduate of Ursuline High School where he had excelled as a member of the football team. He then served in the Army during the Korean War. Mr. Brown had worked at General fireproofing for over 18 years, and later retired from G.M. Lordstown after 26 years in 1992. He was a private pilot and enjoyed building model airplanes, and had once built a full size operating airplane in his garage. He was a member of St. Joseph Church and its Men's club.
He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret T. Thornton whom he married July 23, 1949, and a daughter Kathleen Brown Carroll and her husband Ron Carroll of Austintown.
He was preceded in death by a son Michael E. Brown, a sister Frances Brown, and his parents.
Friends may call from 4 PM to 8 PM Monday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
