BOARDMAN - Prayers will be held on Friday at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic Church for Edward B. Connors, 90, who passed away on Sunday morning at his home.
Edward was born Jan. 20, 1929, in Youngstown, a son of the late, Edward J. and Catherine Marie (Daugherty) Connors.
Edward was a 1946 graduate of Ursuline High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1948 in the Occupation Forces stationed in Japan. Edward retired in April of 2005 as owner of Residential Mortgage of Youngstown.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed golfing with the Donnelly’s Duffers on Wednesdays. Edward loved to spend his summers at their “Bit O’ Heaven Cottage” in Madison on Lake Erie.
His wife, the former Rosemarie I. Cipriano, whom he married Oct. 7, 1950, passed away Dec. 25, 2013.
Edward is survived by his four children, Edward (Janice) Connors of Berlin Center, Kathleen (Richard) Caine of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Donald (Kathy) Connors of Hubbard, and Cynthia (Thomas) Bourne-Komp of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Edward was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Barry Connors.
Family and friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, material tributes may take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St, Boardman, OH 44512.
Edward’s family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of the Valley, Brian from Allen Pharmacy, and Pamela from Home Instead for all of their compassionate care.
