Youngstown - Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church for Edward D. Ellashek age 78 who passed away Saturday morning at his residence.
Edward was born Feb. 5, 1927 in Youngstown, the son of Fred and Elizabeth Lang Ellashek.
Edward was a graduate of Rayen High School. Edward served in the Army as a Corporal in the 378th Replacement Company. He did quality control for over 30 years for General Fireproofing. Edward enjoyed gardening, painting, and art. He also loved spending is time with his grandchildren.
Edward is survived by his wife the former Jean C. Continenza, whom he married July 17, 1954; a daughter Diane M. Tom Allchin of Uniontown, Ohio; a son Daniel E. Susan Ellashek of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, a sister Hilda Gorniak of Fort Lauderdale, Fl; and four grandchildren Tyler and Hannah Allchin, and Zachary and Kelsey Ellashek.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents; four sisters Marie Ellashek, Hermine Syron, Emma Hartman, and Helen Black; and 3 brothers Carl, Richard and Robert Ellashek.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Austintown Chapel and Wednesday from 10 - 11 AM at the Grace Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Grace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or the Forum Health At Home Hospice, 8747 Squires Lane, NE, Warren, Ohio 44484.
