YOUNGSTOWN - Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the family home, 1025 Ravine Drive in Youngstown, for Edward Hart, 92, who died Sunday afternoon at his home.
Ed was born May 23, 1920, in Georgia, one of the 10 children of Ivy and Yula (Gay) Hart.
After serving in the Army as a Staff Sergeant during World War II, he moved to this area and began an over 40 year career at McKay Machine, retiring as a consulting engineer in 1985. He was a member of the Gospel Baptist Church and was an avid golfer, enjoyed gardening, playing cribbage and staying busy.
His wife, the former Bea Seidner, whom he married Aug. 17, 1943, died Jan. 30, 2005.
He is survived by his daughter, Gayle Hart Hvizdak and her husband, Roy Bonci, with whom he made his home; two grandsons, Joshua Hvizdak and Martin (Jammie) Thiemer; and a great-granddaughter, Emmie Thiemer.
Friends may call Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. at 1025 Ravine Drive Youngstown.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the Gospel Baptist Church in Ed's memory.
